Coming Up

Mothering Sunday (31st March)

Our service this week starts at 10.30am as usual, and will be led by the Bishop of Huddersfield. Our local uniform groups will be attending (Scouts, cubs, guides, brownies, and leaders!), and all are welcome, particularly children, of course! There will be flowers for the children (this year, because Easter and Lent are late, and the daffodils have been early, probably something different!)

Interregnum is the technical term for not having a vicar, between one leaving and the next one being appointed. Following a meeting with the bishop this week, things are moving forward, and progress has been made. Details won't be made public until a final decision has been made, but those in the meeting were greatly reassured by the updates, even though nothing definite will happen for at least a few months.

Easter and Holy Week

Holy Week starts on Sunday 14th April with our Palm Sunday service at 10.30, where there will be a palm cross for everyone, and a slightly different service that we hope everyone will enjoy - come along to find out more!

On Tuesday 16th, the Mothers' Union will lead us through the Stations of the Cross, starting at 7pm

On Wednesday at 7pm we will be showing a film of a street Passion Play from Market Rasen in Lincolnshire - the people who have had a preview say it is both interesting and moving!  It will be followed by Hot Cross Buns and coffee!

On Thursday, there will be an Agape meal, starting at 7pm. This commemorates the Last Supper. It will be a 3-course meal, and is strictly limited to 40 people, with advance bookins being taken in church only. There will be no charge, but donations will be very welcome!

On Good Friday there will be a meditation, starting at 2pm.

On Easter Day itself, we have the most joyful service of the year, celebrating the Resurrection.
